Update on Rail Runner Project

One of six windscreen designs for the Isleta Pueblo Rail Runner Station, 36″ x88″, sandblasted tempered glass
I e-mailed Norman Dobbins, who is doing the sandblasting on this project, asking him where the project stood. He called back to say that the two windscreens (entry 2006-09-14) that had shattered because they were improperly installed were to be replaced. He asked me to check which windscreen designs needed to be redone. Since all the windscreens at this station had been installed out of order, he wasn’t sure which had broken.
Improvising this evening, Cathy and I bought some bread, cheese and peach drink, ate on the train and watched the moon come up over the Sandia Mountains. We got on and off at the North Valley station, where we checked which windscreens had shattered. We looked carefully at the other windscreens. Nearly every glass is chipped where the workmen forced the glass onto the threaded studs. I expect them all to shatter if they are not fixed in the next two weeks when the weather will turn cold.
So far the Bernalillo and the Los Lunas stations are nearly finished, but none of the glass has been installed.
